It started at the family table

Around 2008, our family played cards at my parents' house almost every night. Same table, same faces, a lot of laughing and plenty of trash talk. Some of our favorite memories happened over a deck of cards.

One night, in the middle of a card game, someone reached for a discard and said "I'll buy that," the way we used to in rummy. Everyone laughed, and the rule stuck. Then came Reverse. Then Skip. Then a whole lot of ideas that never survived the table.

Seven years of playtesting later, with the people we love most, those house rules became Screw You! Every card in this box carries a little piece of those nights, and now we want to share it with your table.

Back then we called it Screw U. That big U on every number card is still there so we never forget where it started.
